Tea towels and more tea towels, and a 5th place finish!

October 7, 2016

The voting for week two of the tea towel challenges is now up on Spoonflower!

I managed to get a 5th place finish this week in the Prohibition Cocktails themed challenge, so exciting!

This week’s contest theme is Grandma’s Kitchen, go here to vote, there are lots of fun designs (including mine wink wink!)

I finished up and put in my final entry for the month, the 2017 Calendar theme, here’s my design:

A pretty bouquet of flowers in a mason jar, topped with a sweet wee birdie, over a hand-painted background in tropical shades of jade, green, teal, and turquoise, welcoming growth and abundance for the New Year. I included some hand-lettering for good measure! All of these designs will be available for sale in my Spoonflower shop, just waiting for my proofs to ship then it’ll be go time, hopefully by next week if not before. If you’re looking for a unique, and reusable, way to wrap a special holiday gift, try a tea towel!

Coming up in the next day or so (just finalizing details, double-checking my instructions and PDF file design and layout), I have a fun and funky pattern for a set of Christmas table runner toppers, a mat,

and a full runner!

Inspired by vintage-y Christmas days, and going to get a tree and choosing the perfect one to bring home. It’s a fusible applique design, so there is not  a lot of sewing involved. The binding is  a special design I created just for these, you can find it on Spoonflower here.  I had mine printed on their satin fabric which adds a nice shine and luxe finish.

All in all, lots of fun, and watch this space for the new pattern, coming up maybe even later today!

With love and many thanks as always!

xoxo
