New commission piece, Springtime Walk

I recently completed a very special commission piece for some dear friends of ours. I have permission to share it online, but will keep names private, they know who they are!

Here is the completed piece, 24″x36″, acrylic on canvas. (You can see it larger here.)

It was a surprise Father’s Day gift, working from their original photo, as below. The commission-er saw one of the pieces I had created for Abbotsford Hospice Society and thought this image would work perfectly for her idea, it sure did!

I kept it fairly close to the photo, but brightened up colours and put the focus on the special people. I heard it was a big hit with the recipient and their daughter!

So much fun to create for them and it’s always such an honour to be hired to create a such a special piece. Much love and gratitude!

That is truly lovely, and I can guess at what the backstory might be. What a wonderful tribute.

It just sparkles Cynthia! You interpreted the colours but it is so true to the photo – what a great mood it gives!
