Merry and Bright Table Runner, just add batting!

November 16, 2016

I’ve just added a new table runner panel to my Spoonflower shop, the Merry and Bright Table runner!

I designed it to fit and print on one full yard of Kona Cotton Ultra, and you get the front design panel, coordinating backing fabric, and matching binding! You can get it printed on any of their fabrics of course, but I made it fit to one yard of regular cotton to keep it simple.

Here’s what it looks like printed, fresh out of the envelope from Spoonflower.

So all you need to do it cut out the pieces! The backing is slightly larger than the front so you have a bit of wiggle room for your quilt sandwich, and there are 4 strips of binding, it uses a just bit less than 3, so you there’s one extra strip you can play with for other projects.

Once your pieces are cut, make your quilt sandwich with a piece of batting and the backing, and get busy quilting in any design you like! I’m particularly fond of the serpentine stitch on my Janome lately, so I used that with a grey-blue thread.

After it’s quilted, trim it down to the outer edges of the front printed panel, join the binding strips and attach them using your preferred method, being careful to ensure a 1/4″ seam allowance, and presto!

Instant table runner!

The finished runner measures approximately 12″x39.5″.

If you need a quick holiday gift head over to my Spoonflower shop, link right to the design here, and order a panel or two, or three, stitch them up, and for about $20/each, you’ve got some fun, happy gifts, done and done!

Happy sewing!

xoxo
