This coming weekend, Saturday Dec. 17, I’ll be at the Crafty Affaire in Vancouver, at the Croatian Cultural Centre.
Part of the deal is a swag bag contribution, so I stitched up these little pouches with some of my Spoonflower swatches.
I’ve been busy making making making more new goodies to bring with me, like some funky arty ornaments, my progress so far…
I can’t give away all of my secrets but they are made of paper clay. I filled them with resin and unfortunately lost about half of these to errant bubbles that didn’t go away. Sigh. I made more, and tried a new resin method that worked much better, no bubbles, so I’ll be finishing them off and getting them ready to sell.
I’ll have some of my art with me, like these little guys.
And some of my smaller originals too. I’ll also have some Christmas cards, tea towels, pouches, and some new bags I’m working on, I’m calling them “Project Pouches” as they fit any crafty projects like knitting, hand-sewing, etc. easily inside and close up with a drawstring to keep curious pets and kids out! (No pic as I don’t have one fully finished yet, you’ll have to stop by on Saturday if you can to get a first peek!
So now I’m figuring out table layout and what I can display in my allotted space.
Craft shows are a lot of work behind the scenes, but it’s getting done, and I’m finally feeling closer to being ready. Phew!
In other news, I finished this painting recently, I’m loving the reverse painting technique, and just letting shapes appear where they want to.
And lucky me, I got a Peep in the latest issue of Uppercase Magazine!
So hey, if you’re in Vancouver and want to do some last minute hand-crafted, locally made gift shopping, head over to the Croatian Cultural Centre on Saturday and check it out! And, here’s a coupon for $1 off your admission just to make it even better! Hope to see you there!
