I’ve been so busy working the past while I haven’t really had any time to do anything else. Like seriously long hours every day. I think my eyes are turning square from staring at the screen for hours and hours every day. But it’s allll good and I have some pretty fun projects on the go and coming up, I’ll share more as I can.
I’ve also been working on our work website, it’s still nowhere near done, but I had to get something up and online, so it’s barebones right now, but I’m adding portfolio sections, price lists(to come) and filling it up when I get time to work on it.
These pieces are some new illustrations I finished recently for my portfolio, springy flowers, butterflies, and teapots.
I discovered using brushes in Illustrator- and found some really cool ones that give lovely handpainted, artsy, and calligraphic looks. It’s like whoa! New toys to play with!
This is a design I entered in a recent Spoonflower design challenge, for “Hexis”. (This one is not yet for sale- soon though!)
And this one I illustrated for my bestie Bea for her birthday this coming week. I stealthily scoured her Pinterest account and found this quote she had pinned, and I illustrated and handlettered (digitally) it, and used her favorite colours. She’s also moving and had spotted a cool tulip print in one of the houses she looked at, but then didn’t get, so I put some tulips in it for her too. I ordered her a framed print of it on Society 6 and it was set to arrive last week. And it did, but, there was a mixup in the orders and she got somebody else’s order of some weird print, and somebody else must have gotten hers. Surprise!? She was definitely surprised, lol. Le sigh. Best laid plans. So it is now replaced and a new one on it’s way to her, fingers crossed it arrives before her birthday.
And that’s where I’ve been all this time, hunkered down behind the computer, designing logos, branding packages, illustrations, and fabric designs. Also I have a new project for Janome Canada coming up quick, I’ll share more soon too- it’s a fun one!
With much love and gratitude as always,
