A quick Christmas gift idea: Mug Rugs you can sew yourself!

Christmas mug rugs

This week Spoonflower is having a 2 for 1 sale on all Fat Quarters, which means you can nab some fabric for quick to sew holiday gift ideas!

Recently they had a design challenge for Cut and Sew projects, and for mine I designed some Christmas mug rugs that only take a few minutes to stitch up, making them perfect for teacher or hostess gifts paired with a cute mug or some yummy tea. You get 4 per fat quarter, plus some extra sew on labels to use for whatever you like!

The only additional supplies you need, other than the usual sewing supplies, are a bit of quilt batting, a glue stick, and thread. Easy peasy!

The back of each has a coordinating print, in modern Christmas designs and colours.

I had mine printed on Kona Cotton, and they seriously stitch up in minutes. I think waiting for the fabric to arrive was the hardest part!

If you want to nab some to stitch up yourself, you can find them here in my Spoonflower shop!

And until this Thursday any fat quarters you want are 2 for 1 so it makes them a super cute, cheap n’ cheerful project for holiday gifts!

And just as a reminder for those of us outside the US, especially in Canada with the postal strike right now, order sooner than later as usually orders take at least one month or more to arrive by standard shipping.

Happy sewing and thanks for supporting me and my work!
